A lot of people don’t believe me when I say this, but, yes, every business can score free media coverage.

I’m not just talking about big, important businesses – I’m talking about all businesses, even corner stores or one-man operations.

I should know: I’m a journalist who’s given free publicity to hundreds of businesses over the years.

The key to getting media coverage is to make it in the media’s interest to cover you.

Journalists are often under tremendous pressure to churn out lots of copy in a short amount of time.

So if you and your business can help them meet their next deadline, they’ll be open to working with you.

There are a lot of media outlets out there – not just national publications, but also local papers and trade magazines.

I promise you, if you think hard enough, you’ll be able to come up with one piece of news or commentary that would be interesting and relevant to at least one of those media outlets.

As a journalist, I’ve encountered scores of people who felt their businesses didn’t deserve coverage, and were shocked I was taking an interest in them.

If you’re prepared to use your brain and you’re prepared to persevere, trust me when I say that, sooner or later, you’ll be able to score free media coverage.
