There are some businesses that want to produce media releases but don’t – because no one is willing or able to write them.
Thankfully, there’s a way around this problem.
The solution is to outsource the work to a freelancer.
This works very well for a lot of businesses, but it’s important to give two warnings.
First, if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. Second, if you don’t spell out precisely what you want the freelancer to write about, the freelancer won’t deliver precisely what you want.
In other words, however much time and money you invest is whatever you’ll get back.
There are two ways to deal with freelancers. Phone interviews are one way – you schedule a time, the freelancer interviews you and then turns the phone recording into a media release.
The other method is for you to record instructions on a microphone and then send this to the freelancer via Dropbox. Again, the freelancer will turn your words into writing.
